This piece of the trans filter was holding this piston closed. Another simmilar bit was holding the piston next to it open.

Doh, one of the wire holders is on backwards and the pan wouldn't fit until I fixed it.

This much oil accumulated in the pan during the time the valve body was removed! I had put the pan loosely back on so it would stop dripping on the floor and I'm damn glad I did so.

Hard to see in the photo, but the bolts are stuck through holes in the cardboard. The holes are mapped out to match the pattern in the valve body. This, coupled with the diagram taped to the bottom of the car, kept all of the bolts with the right hole. Out of the 22 bolts that hold the valve body on I think there were 6 different lengths.
